This Venetian disc bead has a pink marble exterior that surrounds its opaque white center. Use these Venetian beads as focal points on necklaces or simple earrings, or string them together for a beautiful effect. Venetian glass beads are made by holding glass rods over a flame, then gently working the molten glass over the mandrels. Due to the handmade nature of these beads, there might be rough edges around the bead holes, created where the glass connects to the mandrel. Use a Bead Reamer to remove these sharp edges and smooth the inside of the bead. We also recommend using beading wire and not thread, as the rough edges can wear down the thread.
