Japanese seed beads are known for their uniform shapes that comes from a precision cut. Seed bead is a generic term for any small bead and is used universally. The consistency of these beads is shown greatly in each individual color. As a rule of thumb, the larger number that you see, the smaller the bead will be! For this particular size, there is approximately 850 pieces per 8 gram bag. This count is to be used for reference purposes as different finishes will have slightly higher or lower counts per gram. Use these for bead looming, weaving, and peyote stitch.

Cons: would be bad if you expected dramatic colors.
"This is one of my favorite Toho beads. The photo makes the colors look much more dramatic than they do in real life. This bead has very subtle coloring, like aged denim. Overall, the beads are a dusty, sparrow brown. But some have an indigo edge and others a very subtle, slight tinge of purple (almost invisible). To me, the subtly is a plus, not a minus. Good if you want the beads to function as a background, not foreground, object."
