2 1/2-Inch No-Tangle Thread Bobbin with 3/4-Inch Hole

For bold braid projects in jewelry making, use this BeadSmith 2 1/2 –inch no tangle thread bobbin with 3/4-inch hole. This tool is perfect when working with intricate braiding techniques to hold your thread together and prevent knotting. To wrap your thread, pop up the top to create a spool shape. Hold one end of the thread against the flat part, then begin to wrap around the middle. You can even pre-string beads onto the thread and this bobbin will hold them on the strand. Use this when making a kumihimo design to help keep your strands from being tangled.

They're for more that just Kumihimo
Date:April 11, 2013
Pros: Size, Versatile, Ease of Use, Quality
Cons: Price
Creation: Use to store my fine chains in.
"I do make kumihimo braided bracelets and necklaces but I confess that I did not purchase these bobbins to use in the making of kumihimo braided cords.
I find these larger bobbins are great for winding and storing my yards of fine chain on. I make sure that I wrap the start of the chain securely against the inside center of the bobbin and after winding the chain I leave a tiny bit of the chain hanging out so that when I snap the bobbin shut it holds the loose end of the chain tightly, preventing the spooled chain from unwinding and getting knotted and tangled. I think these bobbins would also be useful to store other small cords on such as leather and satin rattail or mouse tail.
Yes I do know that I will soon have to buy more of these large bobbins as I really want to try my hand at making some beaded kumihimo braids. :)

"I like these larger sized bobbins for longer kumihimo projects. For lariats, the "standard" sized bobbins I'm used to aren't large enough to hold enough cording and beads to finish the project. These larger ones are much better!"

Pros: Size, Price, Ease of Use
"I like the size of these bobbins especially when using beads. You can wrap the beads right into the bobbin and never worry about tangles. Quality design and great price."
