Dakota Stones Bird's Eye Rhyolite 30x40mm Oval Bead Strand

Rich browns mix with beige and clay red colors in the bird's eye rhyolite 30x40mm oval beads from Dakota Stones. Available in 8-inch strands, these wide oval-shaped beads feature bands of yellow, red and brown color swirling together to form unique patterns. These beads are large enough to be used as focal pieces in your necklace designs. Rhyolite was named "streaming rock" because of its beautiful bands, bubbles and crystal-rich layers that form as lava flows onto the surface of the stone. Rhyolite can look very different, depending on how it erupts. Rhyolite has a composition similar to granite but has a smaller grain size. Mined in Mexico, rhyolite is said to assist one to process things from the past and to clear the way toward the progression of the future. Dakota Stones offers high-quality gemstones that are all useable in jewelry designs because every bead is checked to ensure they are cut and drilled correctly, that the finish is right and that the beads look distinct to their stone type.

"These large beads are absolutely gorgeous. Each one is unique and they look almost like pictures of nature. There are so many on a strand that I had several to choose from to make a necklace for my sister, who loves earth tones. They have some great golden-yellow in them, greens, red and brown shades. A couple of them looked like they had small red flowers on them, and others looked like reeds growing in water. I'm using them with smaller birds-eye rhyolite beads and gold spacers. You could also use copper or silver."
