"I bought this cord to re-string some rough rubies I had purchased from India through e-Bay. The drilled holes in the stones were extremely small, & the standard size 4 I've used from local craft stores would not fit properly. The original cord was doubled & thinner. It looked like thread. The number 1 size griffin silk cord was perfect! Their silk cords are reliably strong, hold stones without breakage, & knots well. The red matches nicely, & the ruby necklace looks fabulous! I'm very pleased with the result."
