GS Hypo Cement

Attach beads and pearls to jewelry wire and other stringing materials using GS Hypo Cement. The precision applicator allows you to place small quantities of glue inside beads without creating a mess. Great for assembling illusion or floating designs with plastic, glass, metal, and ceramic beads. The cement dries clear, will not bond fingers, and will not damage the surface to which it is applied. Precision applicator eliminates waste.

Remember, when you buy your beads and bead supplies from Artbeads.com, FREE SHIPPING is available in the USA with orders of $10 or more.

Adjustment Needed
Date:August 28, 2012
Pros: Price, Versatile, Unique, Quality, Color, dries quickly
Cons: Ease of Use, Size, often unable to get glue out
Creation: bracelets, earrings, necklaces
"I absolutely love this glue and I love the idea of being able to just apply a small dot. HOWEVER, the application point is a bit TOO small. Sometimes, the tube of glue has to be squeezed so hard to get the glue out of the tip that the tube itself splits open. This often happens when using the tube of glue additional times after the first time. I would be completely pleased if the application tip could be just a bit larger."

doesn't work on half drilled pearls
Date:January 6, 2012
Pros: Color
Cons: Price, Fragile, doesn't hold onto non-porus surfaces
Creation: half drilled pearl rings and earrings, feather earrings
"I have used this for half drilled pearls, as was recommended. It didn't hold and I have had several pearl rings returned to me because the setting came unglued. I love the tip applicator, but when the glue gets lower in the tube, the tube tends to crack and leak and the applicator no longer works. I can use it to glue beads onto feathers and other projects but it doesn't stand up to daily use like a pearl ring."

Pros: Ease of Use
"I use this cement to keep my thread and leather from unwrapping in my wrap bracelets. It makes any color thread appear black when it dries. Not crazy about that aspect. Notice glue on bracelet in upper right corner of bracelet sealing thread and also in the lower left part of the bracelet also sealing the thread. After all the work put into bracelet and cost of supplies it was upsetting that this glue did this but it did seal the thread as I wanted. Wish there was another option."

"Everyone needs this. Beading and jewelry glues have come a long way and this glue is testament to that. Dries quick, clear, not gooey! The best part is that applicator tip, soooo fine and thin. I work with silk string and pearls and wouldn't use anything else!"

Cons: Ease of Use, Fragile
Other beading styles or techniques: Bead Embroidery
Creation: several items
"This glue is excellent; I've never had a problem with anything I've used it for. However, my tube is less than half-gone, and I have to buy another because the piece that goes into the tip got stuck inside the tip. I got it out with pliers, but now I can't close it all the way. (Obviously, spilled jewelers' glue is not what you want near your beads.)
The tip is the greatest thing about this glue, but it's also the biggest problem. When you close it, you have to plug it with a needle-size piece of wire, and the glue keeps coming out while you do it.
Still, I'd recommend it."

"I use the hypo cement to attach crimps to ribon ends for my necklaces. I put a drop of glue on the end of the ribbon before inserting it into the crimp. The needle applicator is great, but you need to wipe off the last drop, so that it does not come out when you put the cap back on. I made a necklace with a watch recently, and I used the hypo cement to attch the felt backing to the back of the beaded flower, which frames the watch."

"The best thing about this glue is the small needle-like applicator. I used it in crimp ends, attaching small beads and floating beads on wire. This glue works in all those small intricate places because of its great applicator, and it dries clear.
I followed the instructions and did use it in a ventilated area.

"I love this fast-drying CLEAR cement! I use it to glue all types of beads, typically, onto wiring (as one would use as an end-bead). And when I make a mess of it, it is easy to rub off (gently, of course). I also like working with this material because of the way the tube is designed to slowly (or quickly) squeeze the exact amount needed for any particular project."

"I find this to be one of the best adhesives I have tried. It is very easy to use as the fine tip will actually fit in the hole of most beads and it is not as runny as some others I have used. This is the second tube I have purchased."

"I've been beading for over 20 years; LOVE using 15/0's. The G-S Hypo Cement is perfect for the precision use I, generally, need. For something "heavier," that needs a "stronger bond" I prefer Bead FIX, though."

"This glue is a little bit hard to use. I found that it would keep coming out of the tube and "overflowing". The tube itself cracked so it leaked. It also left a trail or"string" of glue when I used it resulting glue in places where I did not want it. However, it does dry clear."

"This glue is crystal clear, dries quickly enough to hold things in place within an hour, but slowly enough to give time for last minute adjustments. Needs about 24 hours to fully cure. Great replacement for an epoxy. Love the applicator--makes it easy to lock stringing ends into drilled out pearls. Glue is thick and clear enough to completely cover crimps."
