"my mom loves purple, pearls and jewelry, but is almost 100 and bed-ridden, so jewelry has to be easy to wear and sturdy. made this 3 color graduated necklace and stretch bracelet as her mother's day gift.
used this stunning 12 mm Swarovski dark purple pearl as the necklace focal bead with smaller dark purple, light gray and cream Swarovski pearls, and TOHO bead round 11/0 white lined crystals as "knots," all strung on wire. my mom just LOVES her new baubles!
Swarovski pearls can be a bit pricey but their beauty is unbeatable and they are very durable. "real" pearls would not be practical and prohibitively expensive in these larger sizes.
i have wanted to make a graduated pearl necklace for awhile but was a bit overwhelmed. used Artbeads Knotted Pearl Necklace as a guide; thank you so much Artbeads!"
