5328 5mm XILION Bicone Crystal AB
SWAROVSKI ELEMENTS has introduced an updated version of their faceted bicone crystal. The new XILION cut has 12 upgraded facets for added sparkle and brilliance. This patented cut is beyond measure and just has to be seen to be truly appreciated. Its beautiful AB finish and 5mm size will make your designs pop with gorgeous elegance. This item replaces our previous 5301-CRYSAB5 faceted bicone.

"XILION Beads have twice the bang for the buck!
Made GF14/20 wire wrap rings with 20ga SQ and 36ga RD. They are Very nice. Made matching earrings, bracelets and necklaces. Made Pendants also."

Having seen the "hype" on the new patented Xilion cut, I had to try it out. I purchased two batches from Artbeads (Clear Crystal and Emerald) as testers. All I can say is WOW!
In broad terms, anywhere that you might have been using the older 5301 cut, 4mm bicone as a standard crystal (as in wedding tiara designs, etc), replacing that with a 5mm 5328 Xilion cut is incredible. Putting two test strings of six crystals (one of 4mm 5301 Crystal AB bicones, the other of 5mm 5328 Crystal AB bicones), side-by-side, the new cut actually made the 5301 look gray. Yes I know that size also makes a difference, but this was far beyond the 25% size difference in the test strings. The prices for the 5328 cut are still higher than the 5301, but it is worth it for the difference it makes in the final presentation to the customer. I have decided not to purchase any more 5301 crystals. All my new designs needing bicone crystals will be based on 5328 Xilion AB bicones. It will be interesting to see if Swarovski can use this cut on other elements in their ranges.
